Good update over the week. I agree on a bunch but disagree on a bunch
too. Obama is far from the Messiah and his cockiness is repulsive. Way out of
touch with what real world problems are.
McNasty, well.... that says it all. Please be more objective because
your typing is attempting to influence readers to not think for themselves and
vote Obama as he is great... those were my two PESOs (thoughts).
I want to bring up the other side of the coin.
Doesn't the newly appointed democratic Congress have the lowest all
time approval rating? Or the highest disapproval rating? Calling it as I see
it. 9-13% approval depends on the weather.
We should fire them all and start over....Lets face it, they all are
horrible.
Maybe the other parties need some more attention. Barr, Paul and
whoever.
I believe Americans want "change". The problem is that no
one will deliver it. The populace is more concerned with dumb down Reality TV,
desperate housewives and Ipods. —All politicians know this and that means
it all starts with our education system... maybe I am off there.
IMO - it won't be the elected official who lead us to the demise....
It was the reckless spending mindset that will doom us, we all are to blame for
that.... all citizens, all corporations, all branches of governments....
everyone is out to spend a buck, chase a buck and hide a buck. Pathetic.
Good stuff....

Answer by R.T.:
Now that the U.S. presidential election has been turned into a Karl
Rove-like-scripted Reality TV 'American Idol' contest and a referendum on
abortion, it will be most difficult to have an honest debate on fundamental
economic and social issues and what team is better placed to tackle them.
I
agree, Obama is no Messiah; nor is McCain. Both have some qualities but also a
lot of shortcomings. I wrote it before: How come such a large country can only
come up with such mediocre personalities? McCain was almost dead last in his
class at Annapolis and I suspect Obama may have benefited from some affirmative
action support along the way.
But
this is academic. Voters must choose the lesser evil among them, or vote for
libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr or other third party candidates.
If
the Obama camp (run by David Plouffe and David Axelrod) were to ask for my
advice, (which they won't), I would recommend that they set up immediately two
campaign brain trusts, one on the economy and one on foreign affairs, and staff
them with the best brains they could find. That would be one way to stop that
crazy 'American Idol' contest, which is a waste of time and an insult to the
intelligence of American voters.
As
for the McCain camp, they should realize they made a major blunder in choosing
an empty head for the v.-p. running mate, who wants to bring about a World War,
who has never heard of the 2002 “Bush Doctrine” and who does not
know what entitlements are.
We
know that this was a choice imposed on McCain by his campaign staff in
desperation to raise him in the polls by bringing in the religious far right.
They should ask her to withdraw on a pretext and name Romney or a well known
businessman or economist in her place. With her obvious lack of qualifications
and her politico-religious delusions, I think Ms. Palin would have trouble
passing the test for a job at Walmart.

Beautiful analysis! Well, well done. You have zeroed in
on all of the essential points. Hope that Barack campaign can grasp all the
nuances, and prevail.
Thank you for this.

As always, thank you for a thoughtful article.
My wife and I were recently at a Renaissance Weekend in Aspen,
Colorado, where she led a panel discussion on the effect of race in the
upcoming election. A professor at Stanford Law School, a VP at Goldman Sachs,
and a lady with the New York Federal Reserve bank, all agreed that Obama needs
to win by at least four or five points to overcome "the Bradley
Effect," white voters conscious or unconscious hesitancy to vote for an
American of African descent.
I fear Obama may need another four or five points to overcome
anticipated voter fraud.
This makes a Democractic Victory a steep hill to climb
and I think needs to be added to your analysis. The stakes are incredibly high,
with billions of dollars at stake, and we can expect the people in power to do
everything they can to remain in power.
With the expanded power of the executive branch and a chance to lock
up a conservative Supreme Court after the next election, the United States
could be moving rapidly toward "The Chinese Model of Democracy," as I
like to call it, authoritarian government and free market capitalism based on a
dominant military/industrial complex.
We should recall that on March 5th, 1933, shortly after the Reichstag
fire, Hitler won in a free election 44% percent of the German popular vote, a
clear majority of voters (his nearest rival gained only 18% of the popular
vote).
It was the last popular election before World II, and it took place in
one of the best educated and culturally developed countries in the world at
that time.

Pathetic!
The Neocons are using Wag-the-Dog mini-wars as a campaign tactic, and
Putin has complained about it more than Biden!
Obama has said our greater threat is in Afghanistan & Pakistan,
BUT does NOT explain we ARE in Iraq for the oil AND in the Caucasus for the
pipeline to Turkey/NATO.
Faint heart ne'er won squat.
Obama has been raised in this high stakes game, and needs to call
rather than pass.
Biden is not 'change'. Dean would have been the Dem Palin, but with
character and a brain...
The platform adopted by the Republican Party this year is the most
extreme in recent history. They didn't talk about it very much, and it's easy
to see why. Here's what you might have missed:
-A constitutional amendment banning all abortions -- regardless of
rape, incest, or the mother's health -- and another banning same-sex marriage
-Language restricting embryonic
stem cell research and opposing action on climate change
-Absolutely nothing about Equal
Pay for Equal Work,
-the destruction of American jobs
due to outsourcing,
-or closing rampant corporate tax
loopholes.
It's no surprise that McCain and his party spent so little
time talking about the issues -They have no issues to run on.
Republicans are hoping they can avoid talking about their failed
policies of the past eight years, and how they have no plans but to bring you
just more of the same.

The Wag-the-Dog comment is correct. Karl Rove met with Saakashvili and
the now deposed Ukrainian leader in Yalta, Crimea, on July 18 (2008).
I have uncorroborated testimonial evidence that members of the US
Third Mechanized Infantry Division were with Georgian troops when they began
the Midnight-Massacre of Tskhinvali on Aug. 7 (2008).
Sarah Palin is a human player piano. That bobby pinned hair look? She
has NEVER been seen in that hairdo before.... What could be sicker than using a
teenage fantasy to sell a candidate for a high office? Steve Schmidt - a Karl
Rove protege – has shown that he is the bottom of the political
barrel.
I'll link your material on a few sites. I appreciate your astute
interest in the Neocon Menace.

I have read your article on presidential elections with great
interest. Your analysis is very compelling and sounds logical to me.
However, I happen to have read Webster Tarpley´s "Obama. The
Postmodern Coup" and this book was also very logical and convincing. Its
basic idea is, that Obama is a creation of Rockefeller faction and is slated to
lead a popular movement of disgruntled masses, and not unlike Il Duce or
Hitler, smash the Americn left from the left before proceeding to act as a real
dictator. The ultimate goal would be a fascict America going against Russia and
China.
There is no doubt that Obama is a creation of the Establishment and,
at least initially, the plans were along Tarpley´s lines. As it is now,
however, it looks as if this variant is not going to be a winning one. The
Movement of Obama "Obamania" is not gaining momentum. Rather the
opposite is true and the choice of Biden only makes things worse for Obama´s
chances.
I do not agree with you that Obama´s handlers had any plans to
alleviate tha lot of American working and poor because Tarpley´s analysis
has convinced me where he came from and what were the reasons for the creation
of his "brand".
If this analysis is true and Obama was to make the plans of
"oneworlders" come true, he is a much more dangerous choice for
America than even McNasty, however impulsive and nasty he might be.
On the other side, the recent book of Brzezinski, "Second
Chance" is very much unlike his "Grand Chessboard": it´s
much more "pacific" and not at all confrontational. Still, Obama is
in favor of intervention in Pakistan and in favor of a tough stand against
Russia.
I would appreciate very much your comments on Tarpley´s position
(if you ar acquainted with the book) and on Brzezinski / Rockefeller probable
strategy as of now.

I did not know about Webster Tarpley's "Obama. The
Postmodern Coup." Why is that that there are dozen of anti-Obama books but
hardly any anti-McCain books? That surprises me. Why is that?
As to Webster Tarpley´s book, I looked it up on
Amazon and this looks like the
typical hatchet job done on a candidate.
I am in the business of writing books and I know how this
works. These are not spontaneous books. They have been orchestrated.
I am not personally enamored with Obama's personality. Read
my article:

But my analysis leads me to believe that McCain is much a
more dangerous and unstable man.

I am grateful to you for your knowledge and writing. It makes me feel
less alone.
Here--it's
a desert. Ignorance of everything. And that includes most academics who have abdicated.
I used to teach at Wisconsin, Rutgers and Brooklyn College. This is is a new
era. I have never seen one like this. I know that it's the end of Rome.

Many thanks for all the magnificent work you are doing to expose the
evil that is the current US Administration and the criminals who prop it up. It
is quite clear that the most prominent politicans in the Western Axis have been
compromised one way or another. This being the case it is obvious that change
can only come if those who hope for a better future for their children and
grandchildren work together.

I just finished reading your article analyzing the aftermath of the
two Conventions. Yes, it really makes so much sense to me. And I agree
that the election is Obama's to lose just as it was Kerry's to lose.
You explained so clearly the situation in Georgia where there were
U.S. and Israeli "advisors" when they attacked South Ossetia
during the first day of the Olympics. I watched both Conventions. It was
horrible for me to hear the Democrats, even Obama following the line of Bush
and Cheney and McCain that Russia attacked Georgia! In reality it was
Russia reacting to the attack of South Ossetia by Georgia.
It is true that Al Gore would have been a fabulous choice for
vice-president and he is authenitcally anti-Bush and anti-Bush wars. Selecting
Hillary would also have been smart. How can Obama not question the warlike and
provocative activities of the U.S. and Israel in Georgia right on the border of
Russia? What is the use of an "opposition party" that rubber stamps
without even questioning?
Yes, it is sad, how Obama has been ruthlessly and relentlessly and
mercilessly savaged by the mainstream news media and Republicans and by
the Evangelical political machine. To me they are an abomination to the
religion that was preached by Jesus Christ! They may talk about peace, as did
McCain, but war is in their hearts.
A final observation I wish to share with you. Last Wednesday
evening, Sept. 3, there were two women preceding Sarah Palin's
speech. One of those two women, a former governor and former CEO of
Hewlett Packard, said in the most ludicrous way that the experience of both
Obama and Biden were both zero because they were both just senators. She did
not make the connection with her crass observation that McCain was just a
senator also! I was watching the PBS coverage and saw none of the
commentators afterwards mention that amazing statement she made.
Is there a way you could communicate your advice to the Obama camp?
They are letting the Republicans set the standards and tones they are
following. I hope somehow Obama can receive your message.

Bravo.
—The best analysis that has ever hit the net, and is nothing short of
political genius; well thought out; documented with a sense of utter
perfection. You deserve an A+ for an article that is nothing less than a
brilliant analysis of political reality. Well done my friend!!!
