I
agree with your whole article like I normally do, although with a slight exception
this time, and
it's
wherein you close with the following sentence.
"When you think of it, this is a cynical game of brinksmanship, always on the edge of legality, morality and decency."
I
don't wish to intrude on your time, however I wish to wonder about the 'on the
edge of legality, ...', for the Bush-Cheney administration, et al, for, and
from my viewpoint, they have always struck me as being [far] from an edge of
...; because it seems, to me, that it'd be difficult to be further away from
legality, morality and decency than this administration and its
behind-the-scenes league of profiteers, and so on, have been and continue to
be. That's short of referring to actual demons, in the literal sense of
such creatures
of
Hell, anyway.
And
reinforcing my view is the following article and the crucial information that
Stephen Lendman writes about with respect to crucial and extraordinary
information that Sue Ann Arrigo, a 30-year careered CIA officer,
detected,
investigated, and exposed, at serious risk to her life. If you haven't
yet read the article, then I wish to suggest that you read it a.s.a.p., for it
is crucial. It is about Cheney, George Tenet and other criminal officers
and operatives of the CIA, the secret, CIA-unregistered, but nonetheless
Halliburton and Carlyle related operatives at the
CIA;
and very much or wholly about major racketeering that cost U.S. taxpayers, U.S.
troops, and Iraqis, surely also Afghans, [much]. Ms Arrigo went to George Tenet
about this, but he told her they'd better shut up, if they didn't wind
up
dead, but she pursued, and obtained plenty of concrete proof.
Congress
hasn't governed correctly, so far, and if it continued after learning of what
Ms Arrigo found, has proof of, and exposed, then it seems the only solution
perhaps is to burn down the whole Congress, into ashes. If I understand Stephen
Lendman's words correctly, then this is information that the Congress still
hasn't learned about or of, and if this is still true, today, then maybe
Congress would finally wake up and start governing according to [law].
(Maybe?).
You'll
agree that it's very important information.

I should
have written “on the edge and over the edge of legality, morality and
decency.”
What I had in mind
was domestic American law. So far, Bush and Cheney have not been impeached and
they usually find a law passed by Congress to cover their actions.

Actually,
I have read it about three times. Not too surprising, it is an excellent
article. I agree with it 100%, and you refreshed for me some things I had
forgotten.

Pretty good article BUT...a game of brinkmanship's...on
the edge of legality, morality and decency--did you end your article up this
way to undercut it--why bother writing in the first place. What about
Israel--you know the Ashkenazi Zionists and the imbedded Neocons [half of whom
are dual Israeli citizens]. What the NWO and the grander theme(s):
Rationalization {EU, NAU, SCO, Africa?], US depression, GM Terminator
seeds, Population Reduction, 9/11, Iran and the Chosen People. We've
talking; Murder, treason, genocide, environmental destruction, financial
destruction, engineered climate change and the elimination of civil
liberties. On the edge of legality, morality and decency? Again,
why write unless it's to beg the issue [despite all of this-- we're still on
the edge of decency], unless you're a shill, unless it's just disinformation.

Please
understand that I'm a Christian and not an anti-Semite. My understanding of a
Semite person is one of those of the Arab or Persion group of people. Reference
why we invaded Iraq I can't help but think, based on it was in no way in the
national interest of the United States then could only have been in the
national interest of Israel that was the root cause. I feel Israel entered into
an agreement with the Bush Administration to agree to the "Road to
Peace" that we were pushing at the time if we'd attack and destroy Saddam.
As Israel's history shows, they welshed after we were involved.
It's
reached a point where Israel has become the disloyal stepchild of the United
States. Anyone who faults Israel is immediately branded anti-Semite and that
person's career, whatever it be private or political, is doomed. Even a past
president who speaks up for the plight of the Palestinian people isn't safe
from attack.
My
take on our upcoming election? McCain picks Lieberman! Presidents set our
nations foreign policy. If we were honest brokers we'd sponsor a nuclear free
middle east policy. We'd also change, immediately to an even handed policy in
that part of the world. No government can afford constant war.
If
we continue on the path we're on we'll experience an economic collapse. Israel
is the greatest threat to world peace today. Those who produced the Israel
government were not a Semite people. They were eastern Europeans who entered
British Protectorate Palestine and introduced terrorism into the middle east
resulting in the British to pull out following the terrorist attack on the King
David Hotel. We've ever since blindly supported the government that took their
place because too many "Christians" in the United States think those
in Israel are the "Chosen" and they've "Returned". The fact
is the ones they speak of never left! There are tens of thousands of Hebrew
Jews living in Iran today and in all of the Arab countries.
I
appreciate Dr. Tremblay's viewpoints and agree with him along with our own Pat
Buchanan.

What
is your belief for why petroleum prices have been increasing at an ever rapid
pace? Is it that the US has been spared the true price for gasoline for
so long as compared to what European Union member nations have been paying for
the last 35 years? Why is the cost of this energy resource such a
mystery? Would appreciate it if you could shed light on the matter.

R.T.:
The
fact that the US dollar has been declining in value over many years has led oil
producers to ask to be paid in euros and yens. The dollar price of oil has
therefore increased.
Also, the
Bernanke Fed has been printing money like hell since last August. This has
raised inflation expectations. We see, for example, that long term interest
rates are on the way up.
Also, and
related to the last point, there has been an explosion of oil and commodity
hedged funds and index funds over the last few months. These funds use leverage
to buy futures contracts and options on oil and other commodities. Since they
usually buy and sell at the same time, this has created a lot of volatitlity in
the markets.
On top of
that, OPEC and large oil companies have slowed the pace of oil exports over the
last few months, thus throwing gas on the inflation flame.
Plus the fact that
governments, starting with the Bush-Cheney administration, do nothing to stop
the excessive speculation, and in fact, encourage it, and you have the result
we can all see. Add the geopolitical tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, and you
have a complete picture.
My feeling is that world oil prices will begin declining as the
economic slowdown takes hold and speculators unload their investments. Also,
the Bush-Cheney administration will do everything to lower the price of oil
before the November election. Oil price could fall to $80 or $90 a barrel.
Over the next 10-15 years, however, conventional oil of
different grades will become scarcer and more oil will come from polluting oil
sands. Prices will remain high. Many economies will then switch to
hydro-electricity, geothermics, solar energy and wind power. Companies like GM
and Ford will have a hard time to survive.
